**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role**:
The key focus of the Computing Lecturer role is to facilitate and enhance the learning experience of students by delivering high-quality instruction. This role involves the development and delivery of courses in Undergraduate programmes. With a focus on maintaining academic excellence and meeting the educational objectives of EIT, this role will provide academic support and fulfil research duties. The role will be pivotal in inspiring and mentoring the next generation of learners, making a meaningful contribution to the field of education.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $78,000 and $83,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The IT Lecturer is based in our School of Computing | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Programme Leader - Computing and will be responsible for:
- **Adapt and Innovate Course Content**: Continuously update course materials and methods to incorporate blended and flexible delivery techniques and educational technologies, fostering student engagement and self-directed learning.
- **Student Support**: Collaborate with student support services to provide necessary assistance and facilitate student success.
- **Assessment and Evaluation**: Oversee and conduct assessments, evaluations, and moderation procedures, ensuring accurate maintenance of student records.
- **Research and Professional Development**: Set and achieve research goals, stay current with advancements in the field, and engage in professional associations and community interactions.
- **Promotion and Marketing**: Support and participate in the promotion and marketing of courses and programmes.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- **Relevant Qualifications and Technical Skills**: Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, with strong technical skills in IT development, support, database design, data analytics, Python, and Mechatronics.
- **Teaching Experience**: Proven experience in teaching across various delivery modes, including face-to-face and online.
- **Communication and Leadership**: Well-developed oral, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- **Organisational Skills**: Strong planning, organisational, and administrative abilities, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- **Cultural Competence**: Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues, commitment to a culturally sensitive environment, and empathy._._
