Canterbury Health Laboratories is looking for a Medical Laboratory
Scientist on a permanent part-time position of 24 hours per week to join their
team in Ashburton. However extra hours covering leave, working the on-call
roster and weekend roster will be available to the successful applicant once
competencies are signed off.
We are a small team working in a busy environment where your
generalist skills will be valued. Ideally you will be registered with the
Medical Sciences Council with phlebotomy experience. You will be part of a
supportive and friendly team that has a strong quality focus. You will bring a
'can do' attitude as you work with the team of Scientists and Technicians to
ensure efficient and smooth running of laboratory services.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge and
**skills**:
You will take responsibility for a variety of tasks including
collecting and processing specimens, data entry and responding to phone calls,
running analysers and performing haematology microscopy. A qualification in
haematology and Biochemistry would be advantageous. You will bring attention to
detail, excellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire for team work. We
The laboratory operates between the hours of 0700 and 1800 Monday
to Friday and your shift will be between these hours.
