About our group | Mō te roopu

The Finance & Systems Group’s objective is to work in close partnership with the wider business to lead, support and enable the EPA to achieve its strategic intentions and to effectively deliver its core functions.

Finance & Systems deliver a broad range of services, and is comprised for the following specialist teams and functions:

- Information Technology leads, maintains and supports IT systems, implements new hardware and software, assists staff with training and support, and ensures systems security
- Services provides high-quality office services and facilities, manages the procurement function and contract management, and leads the EPA’s sustainability initiatives
- Risk and Assurance operates processes to manage the EPA’s strategic and business risks, and manages the out-sourced internal audit function
- Finance and Planning delivers accurate, timely and meaningful financial information, organisational performance reporting, and provides high quality internal and external accountability reporting
- The Project Management Office (PMO) champions using the EPA Programme of Work to achieve strategic objectives through the targeted use of investment funding to deliver major systems and business improvement projects/programmes

About the role | Mō te tūnga

This is a permanent part-time position based in our central city offices on Lambton Quay, working with colleagues who are focused on making a difference. Your role as our customer services administrator, helps keep the EPA running smoothly to achieve our meaningful mahi. Some days can be somewhat predictable in nature so if you enjoy working to structure with opportunity for other challenges on occasion, you may have met your match.

We have a supportive administrative cohort around the organisation so you will be inducted with plenty of encouragement. Some of the other benefits of working with us include on-site Māori language lessons and regular workshops to develop staff understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori; talks on a variety of topics from fascinating speakers; and a range of clubs and groups, from gardening to adventure running, that cater to the diverse interests of our employees.

We also offer our employees additional leave on top of the standard legislative requirements and an allowance to set up for any remote working required, which we think is pretty neat

Days/hours are Mon - Fri 9.30am - 2.30pm (25 hours per week)

About you | Mōhou ake

We are looking for a highly organised individual with outstanding customer service skills to be the face of the EPA. As your role leads the reception function, you are often the first point of contact for all visitors. You may have previous experience or be interested in a career in administration. Either way, if you thrive on human connection and a providing an exemplary service to guests and wider business stakeholders, this could be the role for you.

**We are looking for someone who**:

- is well organised
- has a positive attitude and is ready to hit the ground running
- has exceptional customer service skills and is comfortable to lend a hand where necessary
- has excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- has a strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- is proactive, flexible, has great attention to detail and is willing to go the extra mile
- has intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
- has experience with purchasing, including preparation of purchase orders, placing orders, reconciling invoices and accruals. This is desirable but not essential.

While your primary focus is to lead our reception function, from time to time there will be opportunity to stretch your skills in helping the business with other administrative or project support. This position may also suit you if you are looking to get your foot in the door of an organisation with scientific experts and professionals with a shared vision for better environmental outcomes across Aotearoa.
