**The role**
Reporting to the HSQE Manager, as the HSQE Advisor this role will see you having a strong focus on engagement and educating staff. You will be spending a mix of your time on site, undertaking advisory and assessment work, as well as educational work with our team from the field and office. A key focus will be on incident management system and reporting by providing information to the business.

We welcome residents from New Plymouth, Rotorua, or Hamilton and you can be based in any of these office locations. There will be frequent travel expected within the Central region. Some of the responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Build and maintain relationships while interacting with various stakeholders to ensure HSQE management systems are in place and working effectively
- Support the HSQE Manager in all HSQE and Wellbeing matters for the central region
- Manage all subcontractors used to ensure (as a minimum) full compliance with our HSQE requirements
- Provide budgeting, forecasting, and pricing support to the HSQE Manager
- Foster a culture where employees are engaged and feel empowered make decisions that ensure they keep themselves, their colleagues, contractors, the public and the environment free from harm

**About you**
You will be an experienced HSQE professional who is a champion of health, safety and environmental principles and preferably has experience in a contracting environment (electricity experience is advantageous but not essential).
- You’ll be able to demonstrate your:
- Experience in root cause investigation analysis methodologies, managing audit programmes, data and risk analysis
- Proven ability to train and conduct presentations
- Tenacity in taking problems through to successful outcomes despite potential barriers
- Ability to build trust and maintain strong collaborative working relationships both in professional and front-line field environments
- Team player with a great ‘can do’ attitude
- Willingness to travel within central region locations - New Plymouth, Rotorua, and Hamilton
- Strong interpersonal skills preferably experienced in working in a multi-cultural environment
- IOSH, NEBOSH or an equivalent qualification is highly advantageous
