- About the role
Our Specialist Mental Health Services (SMHS) are at
the leading edge of mental health service delivery. We provide a range of
inpatient and community services to tangata tangata whaiora in the Waitaha Rohe (Canterbury
district)
The Rural Adult Community Service, Specialty Mental Health Services,
assesses and treats people aged 18 to 65 who
lived in the wider rural Canterbury. This covers north of Kaikoura down to the
Rakaia River, and the outer bays of Banks
Peninsula. Staff travel to see consumers and whanau
both at clinics, home visits and in their community. We are currently
seeking a 0.5FTE (20 hours) Pukenga Atawhai, who can commit to whole days
away when required. Availability for after hours call outs may be required also.
Our multidisciplinary team is small
but all disciplines are represented. The Pukenga Atawahi will be able to
aid the team in responding to our roles and responsibilities under Te
Tiriti o Waitangi, and in seeking equitable outcomes for Maori service
users.

the centrality of whānau in our work and the lives of tangata whaiora.

understand their cultural requirements through assessments (Te Arotakenga - cultural assessments)
- Work alongside and guide
our qualified professionals to be culturally responsive
