- Research nurses are a very important and an integral part of the Cardiovascular Research Unit (CVRU) here at Te Toka Tumai.
- The CVRU Research Study Co-ordinator is a Nurse Specialist role that manages a portfolio of Cardiology trial projects. The Nurse specialist coordinates all aspects of studies, including budgets and contracts, and also assess participants clinically at research visits.
- CVRU is based at Auckland City Hospital as part of the Cardiovascular Department.
- The service comprises of Adult Cardiology patient’s within adult services at Auckland City Hospital primarily within the Cardiology service.
- The research unit provides clinical trial management which includes a mix of international, academic/standard of care and pharmaceutical trials, as well as local investigators with national and Auckland Hospital based studies.
- The CVRU has numerous ongoing and upcoming trials. The special research interests include management of acute coronary syndromes, antithrombotic management of acute coronary syndromes and atrial fibrillation, biomarkers, secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, management of cardiovascular disease in the elderly, diabetes, nutrition, rehabilitation, frailty, dyslipidaemia, and registry studies.

This is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) Monday to Friday role You will also be joining a great team environment and working with a dedicated team.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

The successful applicant will have the following:

- Understands and supports the pursuit of Māori health gain as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori through the expression of hauora Māori models of care and Mātauranga Māori
- Post-graduate qualifications preferable
- A minimum of 3 years cardiovascular nursing experience preferred with demonstrated leadership
- Have NZ Nursing registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- This role has reporting line to Nurse Unit Manager - Cardiology and to Principal Investigators of each clinical trial
- Support will be provided to upskill clinical knowledge and expertise
