Are you an experienced mental health nurse looking to make a real impact in mental health care? Health New Zealand l Te Whatu Ora in Taranaki is seeking an ECT Coordinator Nurse to lead the coordination of ECT provision, ensuring comprehensive treatment and care planning informed by specialist knowledge.
As the ECT Coordinator Nurse, you will collaborate with the ECT service team, theatre staff, and referring teams, providing education and support to clients and families. Your role will also involve maintaining ECT treatment information and statistics, reporting to the Ministry of Health to meet regulatory requirements.
Join our team and contribute to improving clinical practice at both organisational and regional levels. You will play a key role in addressing quality, resource, and clinical care issues by liaising with staff, external partners, and optimising available resources. Your ability to manage complex problems and develop innovative solutions will be essential in ensuring effective delivery of ECT treatment.

- Provide specialist nursing care and education for whai ora & whanau accessing ECT treatment
- Coordination between multiple services and teams to plan and deliver ECT on a weekly basis, navigating service demands and pressures and using interpersonal skills to influence best outcomes for whai ora
- Act as a resource for mental health & physical health staff and promote ECT as a safe and effective treatment modality
**Moū | About you**
You will be a qualified Registered Nurse specialising in Electro-Convulsive Treatment for vulnerable adult whai ora with treatment resistant mental health issues. Collaborate with experienced Psychiatrists to provide top-notch ECT services, ensuring high quality and safe care.
You will have:
- At least two years’ experience in acute and/or community based mental health nursing, preferably with past ECT delivery experience
- Ability to work under pressure, be a good team player, demonstrate leadership skills and positively contribute to service delivery
- Be prepared to travel across the Taranaki rohe to meet the needs of our people and have a willing, 'can do' attitude.
