Residential Handyman

**The Job**
We are looking for a flexible worker for on-call work with our client who carries out basic property maintenance. You will be working in residential properties following a list of jobs/repair work needed to make the residence more secure. Each property will have a different list of requirements and you may work on a different number of properties per week.

Main tasks of the role:

- Install security hardware
- Fit window latches
- Fit new locks, or additional locks to doors or ranch sliders
- Gardening/trimming back bushes to make the property more open (mínimal work in this area as they do have their own landscaping team)
- Any other tasks prescribed by the advisor that does the audit of the property

Do you meet the following criteria?
- A handyman, carpentry or DIY savvy person who is good with hand tools
- Can work unsupervised - be given a list/agenda and sent out to jobs on your own
- Be flexible to work at short notice, with a lead in time of 48 hours to get the job started
- Be flexible to work out of town on the odd occasion (with coverage throughout the Canterbury region)
- Clear criminal history
- Can pass a drug screen
- Have your own reliable transport to get to home base on time (based in Christchurch east)
- Full CL1 licence

This is an ongoing, casual role and you'll need to be flexible to work a busy week, or a quiet week with nothing on at all. You will be police vetted and drug screened as part of the pre-employment process. This work could suit a semi-retired person or possibly someone that isn't reliant on a full time wage to survive.
