**About this role**
We are currently seeking a **Kairuruku Kairangi** on a **fixed term (12-months), full-time (37.5 hours per week)**. Ideally this role would be based in **Porirua/Pōneke,** but we are open to applicants from other locations across Aotearoa.
The **Kairuruku Kairangi** will conduct Rangahau within Te Manawahoukura, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa’s Centre of Rangahau. You will work Dr Tara McAllister on two main projects:
**1)** Focused on Māori student achievement and
**2)** Focused on her Marsden-Fast Start _Vision Mātauranga: is it past its use-by date?_
Day to day, you’ll support research projects from design, data collection and analysis through to writing, guided by up-to-date knowledge in this space. You’ll also monitor research project progress which will, in turn, allow you to prepare reports and planning advice to advisory groups, senior Te Manawahoukura management, Rangahau leaders and funding partners.
**About you**
You will bring with you:
- Rangahau/research experience in the following or associated disciplines: Māori studies, Indigenous studies, social science, sociology, psychology, anthropology, sciences, education, etc.
- Evidence of ability to write in support of publications and research reports.
- Ideally an ability to undertake quantitative research.
- Demonstrate experience working in te ao Māori.
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
