Located in the Central Lower North Island; Health New Zealand | Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus at Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
About the Role
Our busy hospital setting will offer you the challenge of performing a wide range of procedures involving acute, planned, inpatient, and outpatient workloads. You'll coordinate workloads and liaise with clinical and support staff.
We are a hardworking team who use professional knowledge and skills to ensure the provision of a quality patient-centred imaging service.
This position includes varied shifts including evenings and weekends. This is a temporary full-time position until January 2024.
The MRI team includes 5 MIT's and 2 trainees, you will be joining a team of around 60 MIT's: including MRI MIT's, CT, General, NM and Sonographers.
Site specific orientation will be provided as required.
About You
**In this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Conducting MRI patient examinations to a high standard.
- Ensuring the MRI scanner operates effectively and efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate patient data and ensuring all administrative processes are complete including paperwork for all exams.
- Have a strong focus for patient care and workflow.
- Practicing procedures in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring health and safety regulations are met
- Providing supervision and training for our MRI trainee (as required).

**You will also have**:

- NZ registration and a current annual practicing certificate in MRI
- Excellent interpersonal skills: communication, team effectiveness, and the ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent time management skills, including initiative and flexibility.
- IV-line access skills
