This is a rewarding opportunity to support prison-based learners to become better prepared for employment and further education.
In this role you will be supporting a variety of education programmes and activities offered to people in our care at Ara Poutama Aotearoa. You will play a significant role in encouraging prison-based learners to improve their literacy and numeracy skills; work towards achieving New Zealand qualifications; and acquire job search skills. Our teams are dedicated to reducing re-offending.
You will bring your passion and commitment to changing lives to Otago Corrections Facility where we are making Ara Poutama Aotearoa's Hōkai Rangi vision a reality. Through the Hōkai Rangi strategy and the Hōkai Nuku change programme we are endeavouring to deliver to better outcomes for the people in our care.
He kōrero mōu | About you
We would like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- Experience assessing and working with young people and adults who have not previously experienced education success
- A tertiary qualification and/or a qualification in adult education
- Sound knowledge of the New Zealand Qualifications Framework
- A strengths-based approach that embraces manaakitanga and whanaungatanga.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
Salary Range is $72,841 to $81,143.
