Administrator/Clinical Typist - Southern Lakes Community Mental Health (Taupo)
Mental Health & Addiction Services, Te Whatu Ora Lakes
Permanent, full-time or part time (Monday to Friday)
Location: Taupo Site
We are searching for an experienced Administrator / Clinical Typist to join our vibrant team at Southern Lakes Community Mental Health & Addictions Service in Taupo to provide administration support; clinical typing and customer service.
About the role
- The administration team provides customer focused reception services and administrative/clerical support to assist in the efficient functioning of the service with people centered care at the fore front.
- Transcription of clinical dictation is an essential part of this role and includes typing and formatting of other documents. A sound knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office is required for this role. Knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage but is not essential.
- This is a varied and busy role, administration duties which will see you supporting the team to deliver the many aspects of the Community Mental Health and Addictions services provided to our Taupo and surrounding community.
- You will be joining team of 2 administrators in Taupo reporting to the Team Leader Administration Adult CMH who is based in Rotorua.

- You should have the following skills
- Strong in problem-solving, communication and have the right personality for the job.
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to problem solve, to determine and balance work priorities is essential to the role.
- Flexibility, ability to work under pressure of deadlines, maintaining quality outputs with mínimal supervision.
- An experienced medical typist/administrator who can provide administration support to our friendly and skilled multidisciplinary team.
- You must be able to work unsupervised operating as part of a team as this role is vital to the smooth functioning of the Community Mental Health and Addiction Services in Taupo.
The following skills are required:
- Previous experience in office and reception procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent word processing, computing and typing skills.
- Accurate data entry
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Work accurately and efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to respect the privacy of clients and treat all information in a sensitive and confidential manner
- The ability to learn computer software packages quickly are also required.
To be eligible to work at Te Whatu Ora Lakes you must be fully vaccinated.
Salary range: $64,903 - $ 67,787 per annum pro rated to hours worked
