This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader to Building and Tenancy as the Head of Tenancy.

As Head of Tenancy, you will be leading Tenancy Services, the regulator in the residential tenancy and unit titles sector, supporting people across Aotearoa to live in housing that is healthy, safe, and provides opportunities to thrive and belong.

You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality and customer-focussed services and regulatory activity across the tenancy system that impact the daily lives of New Zealanders.

The successful applicant will bring extensive and successful experience in a significant customer-facing delivery and regulatory organisation. You will bring your expertise and passion for being a world-class regulatory steward, strategic direction-setting, delivering high quality services and regulatory activities and driving successful delivery and implementation of large-scale projects.

As a key member of the Building and Tenancy Leadership team, this position will play a key role in ensuring that the Building and Tenancy branch delivers on its objectives and delivers services that support the aspirations of Māori and New Zealanders.

- Proven experience as a regulator
- Proven experience in multi-faceted and large-scale service delivery
- Significant and successful experience in establishing and building strong working relationships; internal, external, cross-government and ministerial
- Proven experience successfully implementing law reform programmes
- Proven experience in successfully leading and embedding change including significant transformation programmes involving ICT systems, process, team culture and service delivery
- A strategic thinker who is able to make the connections between various aspects of the organisation and implications for their unit
- Proven ability to develop and maintain the trust and credibility with senior leaders/stakeholders
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field or extensive comparable experience
