This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and Healthy Families NZ, focused on preventing chronic diseases through nutrition, physical activity, tobacco, and alcohol interventions.

In this role, you’ll support the implementation of health-promoting frameworks within the South Auckland area. You will coordinate interventions in council and community settings, working with key partners to create supportive environments for preventive health. Your work will also focus on equity, capacity building, and systems change to reduce health inequities and enhance population health outcomes.

**Some of your key responsibilities will include**:

- Leading and coordinating health initiatives focused on nutrition, physical activity, and reducing tobacco and alcohol use across South Auckland.
- Building strategic relationships with local government, public health, and community organisations to drive collective impact.

- An understanding of Māori health, social determinants of health, and health inequities affecting South Auckland populations.
- Excellent communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and drive collective action for better health outcomes.
- Knowledge of both mātauranga Māori and western health frameworks, with a commitment to equity and social justice.

You will also need to hold a current New Zealand driver's licence and be comfortable with flexible, collaborative working arrangements.

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**

At Auckland Council, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Tāmaki Makaurau. As one of the largest local authorities in the South Pacific, we provide essential services to over 1.5 million people, and you’ll be at the forefront of leading the development and implementation of innovative strategies that impact the future of our city. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant organisational change while making a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of Aucklanders.
