**The details**:12 months Fixed Term until 19 May 2025, Full time (but will consider part time)**We are looking for an Occupational Therapists | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau to join our team based at Thames Hospital on a fixed term contract covering parental leave.**

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

You'll be working as part of a passionate Occupational Therapy Team, dedicated to providing a high quality service to Thames Inpatient Wards. Your role as part of the team, is to provide quality assessment and deliver safe and clinically effective interventions to support our clients to live their best life as independently as possible. You'll have the opportunity to assess and treat wide range of conditions with surgical, orthopaedic, medical, neurological needs as well as manage a caseload of rehab patients, including stroke rehab. Work closely with another full time Occupational Therapist and alongside Physio Therapists.

- As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- At least 18 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process, however will consider new graduate Occupational Therapist | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau-
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills-
- Ability to work autonomously and part of a team-
- Rehab experience-
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team-
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills-
- Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of the evidence informed practice-
- A full New Zealand drivers licence**Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service**
- Allied Health is a directorate within Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.
