**Job Description**:

- Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for a new challenge?
- Help us to maintain three waters assets through a mix of planned and reactive work
- Fulltime, permanent position based in Silverstream

The opportunity

The Industrial Fitter position sits within our Customer Operations Group. The purpose of this role is to maintain mechanical equipment and systems across the three waters network, to ensure they are installed, maintained, and repaired to achieve a high level of reliability and performance. You will have the opportunity to work on a mix of planned works and reactive maintenance where your fault finding, problem-solving and rectification skills will be put to good use.

About you

You’re hard-working, approachable, and driven to help your team and the wider community. To be successful in this busy role you will bring:

- A Level 4 Mechanical Engineering qualification, along with
- Practical experience as a Maintenance Fitter, including welding and machine operation
- A full Class 1 Drivers License, with Class 2 highly desirable
- A demonstrated ability to use mobile and electronic apps and devices, purchasing and job management systems, systems such as excel etc
- The ability to work reliably and independently on complex assignments, as well as effectively across diverse teams
- The ability to meet health and safety requirements and role model safe practices
- The ability to build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- A degree of physical fitness to meet the physical requirements of the role (heights, confined spaces, physical work)
- Experience working on assets in the water industry (pumps, air compressors, valves, mechanical screens) is desirable
