Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Level 8 Adult and Emergency Operating Rooms provide 24/7 complex care for a wide range of surgical patients: adult and paediatric neurosurgery vascular, liver and kidney transplants, general, colorectal, upper GI surgery, urology, ORL, orthopaedics, trauma and stroke.
This is an exciting full time nursing leadership role for a highly motivated, passionate experienced PACU nurse to lead the management of specialised patient care and our hard working, enthusiastic nursing teams.
The Level 8 perioperative areas consist of 6 preop inpatient bays, 12-day surgery admission bays, and 15 PACU bed spaces.
You will be supported by Clinical Speciality Nurses and working closely with other multi-disciplinary groups to deliver effective and high quality patient care. You will collaborate with multiple senior team members for the day to day co-ordination of elective and acute patient workload, enjoy organising people and resources while achieving demanding goals.
This fantastic job opportunity is for the level 8 Adult and Emergency perioperative areas in Auckland City Hospital: PACU, ORDA (Operating Room Day Admission Unit) and Preoperative Unit.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with minimum 5 years of PACU experience with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, robust clinical experience, decision making skills, teamwork and resilience. You will be responsible for high achieving teams, providing clinical leadership and supporting the continuing professional development for our Registered Nurses.
