Drive the future of sustainable nutrition in Aotearoa New Zealand through collaboration with top scientists, industry players and public health advisors. Build and expand existing research networks to deliver new knowledge. Provide expert research leadership in sustainable nutrition as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team.

**What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua**
You will be developing innovative new knowledge and methodologies to advance PFR's capability in food systems, particularly through integrating food composition data with sustainable growing practices and diets. You will lead and contribute to the development of research projects and secure funding to support cutting-edge work in nutritional sustainability and expand the data offerings in the New Zealand Food Composition Database. With a focus on collaboration, this role also involves fostering a high-performance science culture with publishing in top journals and building trusted relationships with both internal teams and external partners. This role also offers the flexibility to pursue your own research interests and is a unique chance to make a significant contribution to the health of people and planet while pursuing your own scientific vision.

To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are:

- A PhD in human nutrition, food science (including food composition), or related science area relevant to sustainable nutrition.
- Proven experience in research project development and management, including a strong track record of securing funding from funding agencies and commercial clients.
- Knowledge and interest in New Zealand's food system and its global context.
- Strong leadership, collaboration skills, and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
- Problem-solving abilities and adaptibility, with strong data science and communication skills.
