Following a recent change project to future-proof our Network we have a number of exciting new opportunities with our Northpower Network team. We are a leading electricity distribution network company committed to delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions to our customers. We are currently seeking a talented Distribution Programme Manager to join our team.

**The opportunity**
At Northpower, our people are at the heart of our success. As a Distribution Programme Manager you will lead the successful delivery of distribution projects that drive our business objectives and strategic goals. You will also role model success in several technical and people functions:

- Take full accountability for the successful delivery of Network projects, employing the right project management frameworks, tools, and techniques.
- Plan and execute projects through their life cycle, including initiation, execution, and closeout, managing resources effectively.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and ensuring compliance with risk management frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining excellent relationships to ensure project success.
- Oversee the Distribution asset delivery process, managing project schedules and budgets to mitigate network and delivery risks.
- Provide accurate reporting on project status and performance, offering insights to support effective decision-making.
- Lead your team by example, encouraging a culture of pro-active risk management and continuous improvement.
- Embrace safety leadership and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

**Who we’re looking for**
To be considered for this role you will naturally be a people leader and possess strong interpersonal skills, as well as:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
- Professional formal training, preferably in electrical, civil, mechanical, telecommunications, or SCADA/control.
- Formal project management training with a recognized qualification (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of construction, power transmission/distribution technology, and/or the electricity industry in NZ.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt project management tools and techniques to various project areas.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Proven experience in managing contractual arrangements and the contracting environment.
- A commitment to safety leadership and environmental management.
