We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader to join our New Zealand Transport & Infrastructure leadership team and to drive the growth and performance of a newly established New Zealand Survey and Spatial. This role is a chance to shape a strong and sustainable future for our survey team, fostering a culture of collaboration, developing our talent, delivering on our strategy, and making a positive difference for the communities that we work with.

**Te kāinga rua | The opportunity**

Our team of 60 Surveyors, spatial and data specialists work with clients nationally across a broad cross section of Beca’s key markets. Our survey specialists are currently integrated throughout our regional infrastructure groups. Our strategic direction for the capture and management of data has led to the creation of a new national Survey & Spatial group, by joining up our survey and spatial specialists into a newly created business unit.

In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the survey and spatial discipline at Beca and leverage the support and ideas from an existing high performing leadership team by developing and executing a strategy, vision and business plan that aligns with our goals and values.

We have created this role to ensure that we continue to achieve great outcomes for our clients, while maintaining our culture of care. The current team is spread over a number of civil infrastructure teams across Auckland, Dunedin, Tauranga, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. They are a high performing, profitable and strongly collegial team of talented licensed cadastral surveyors, surveyors, construction surveyors, survey technicians and survey assistants. This is an opportunity to lead the evolution of our Survey & Spatial business while fostering a collaborative team culture that encourages work-sharing across geographies, that focuses on growing client and market diversity and celebrates technical excellence. In particular, you will foster collaboration with Beca’s Digital, Instrumentation and Monitoring and Civil businesses, where there are immediate synergies and opportunities to work together and develop shared technical and delivery strategies.

As the Manager of Beca’s Survey & Spatial business, you will be responsible for strategy, sales, project delivery outcomes, recruitment, retention, mentoring and team development. You will have the autonomy to build on our existing strategy and will draw on the support of our Transport & Infrastructure leaders to implement your strategy and deliver innovative, sustainable and community-focused outcomes.
