We have a position available for an experienced Inpatient Dispensary Pharmacist to join our dynamic and innovative Inpatient Pharmacy team at Middlemore Hospital.

Our Inpatient Pharmacy utilises technology to deliver safe storage and optimal distribution of medication within Middlemore Hospital and throughout the wider Counties Manukau District. The Clinical and Dispensary teams work together and alongside the multidisciplinary team to optimise medication delivery, as well as systems improvement and governance.

Within our recently updated Pharmacy Career Framework, the Senior Dispensary Pharmacist role has been created, and will progress along the non-designated pathway ranging from Step 9 to 12 via CASP.

The hospital environment will provide an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist a valuable opportunity to further broaden and develop their knowledge and skills in the Inpatient Pharmacy setting, as well as grow in other important aspects such as staff training and development, mentoring and quality improvement initiatives. The Senior Dispensary Pharmacist will assist with the day to day running of the dispensary to ensure safe and efficient supply of medicines and also support the pharmacy leadership team while we strive to optimise service delivery and achieve the goals of our service and the organisation.

**We are looking for a pharmacist who is/has**:

- New Zealand registered pharmacist with current APC, or eligibility to obtain one
- At least three years’ experience as a registered pharmacist (working in an inpatient dispensary environment in a hospital or a community pharmacy. At least one of the years must be in a hospital inpatient dispensary)
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards a postgraduate qualification) is desirable - e.g. Postgraduate Cert/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
- Accurate and organised
- Ability to think on the spot, enthusiastic and able to lead self and others
- Effective communicator with sound problem-solving skills
- Supportive team player and able to teach and train other pharmacy staff and students
- Keen interest and/or experience in quality improvement and service development
- Able to work flexible hours including participating in our weekend rosters
- Familiarity with ePharmacy, Pyxis and MedChart is highly desirable
