**About the company**:
This is a successful and thriving NZ owned, PE backed business, made up of three entities operating in manufacturing, design and installation with large private and government infrastructure contracts, as well as providing services and products to the SME, agriculture and export sectors. A complex and dynamic business that is focused on growth, productivity and operational efficiencies, across a number of national sites. They are focused, fast thinking, and passionate about their business and have high performing operations.
**About the role**:
With their long standing CFO moving towards retirement, we are looking for an accomplished CFO to take this thriving business forward. You’ll be quickly introduced to the wider business, getting to know the GMs and onto the ‘factory floor’. The current CFO and finance and admin team of 10 will initially take care of the day to day, so you can work closely with the CEO, Board and operational leaders to add your industry and financial nous to theirs with a focus on providing high level analysis and troubleshooting of commercial challenges, risks and opportunities. You'll find an established team and systems/financial processes in place, so no mess to wade through - get straight into the good stuff
**Critical success factors include**:
- Preparation and presentation to the Board of the long range forecast and budget
- Produce and achieve annual budget targets for revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, capital spend, labour and other cost efficiency, cash collection and generation targets
- Provide timely and accurate monthly reporting to the Board
- Actively drive timely price rise and cost savings initiatives
- Ensure all capital investment is business cased and measured for ROCI
- Meet banking covenant requirements
- Actively manage and appropriately balance/mitigate business, legal and audit risks
- Managing and developing a high performing financial and administration team
**About you**:
As an experienced CFO, of course you'll be comfortable with presenting accurate results and Board reports, but you'll need to have a background in the manufacturing and construction/labour sectors and be known for your commercial prowess as much as your technical abilities. This role offers you the opportunity to bring something new and different to the table and focus on commercial, operational and productivity gains.
**What you'll need to succeed**:
- Previous CFO experience within a relevant industry sector
- Experience in presenting strategy, business plans and business and investment cases to Board level
- Experience in manufacturing and/or construction industries and knowledge of relevant commercial drivers
- Commercial acumen; proven skills in leading, driving and producing business/investment cases (balancing investment/risk), budgets, commercial and value driver analysis, cost savings programmes and initiatives and performance and management reporting
- CA and/or CPA qualification
- Knowledge and experience in managing banking, commercial, supplier, legal and key customer relationships
- Excellent people and customer focus with demonstrated evidence of successful internal and external partnering and relationship, negotiation and consensus building skills
- Demonstrated growth mindset, curiosity, ability to learn and grow at work
