Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role
Our National Planning team is one of the largest planning teams in the country and takes the lead in developing area specific development strategies through strategic, spatial planning and regulatory activities. Through collaboration they assess opportunities and advise how Kāinga Ora can enable sustainable and thriving communities and urban developments. They are also responsible for supporting and guiding the place-based planning teams to ensure consistency in methodology, expert input and cross regional learning.
Our exciting work programme is growing, as such we are looking to welcome a Senior Development Planner to join our Wellington Team. This opportunity will give you exposure across end to end development planning, seeing projects right through across the country This role works closely with planning leadership across the country to lead and influence the assessment of land for urban development outcomes. The role also leads internal research, evaluation and creation of planning frameworks that supports Kāinga Ora urban development objectives and activities.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring
- Significant experience of statutory and regulatory planning including notified plan changes and resource consents
- In-depth knowledge of the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act and associated legislation/regulations, including a good understanding of the changing legislative framework
- Effectiveness in the preparation and presentation of planning evidence and assessments
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- A customer centric approach
- Ability to lead teams of professional experts
- Willingness to work in a dynamic, agile environment
