He angitūtanga | About the role
Provide iwi partnership and conservation leadership in the Chatham Islands Wairarapa District.
As Senior Ranger / Supervisor Treaty you will take on a dual-focused role providing strategic direction to the Operations Manager as well as leadership of a small treaty-focused team.
You will plan, supervise delivery, and report on the district's Treaty partnership operational work programme.
**The position will be focussed on**:

- Plan, scope, prioritise and develop the district Treaty Partnership operational work programmes and associated Treaty settlement requirements for the Operations Manager
- Monitor and optimise delivery performance and expenditure, mitigating risks and ensuring alignment with work programme and budgets.
- Utilise data reporting and analysis to inform regional and local decision making.
- Actively working with whānau, hapū, iwi and post-settlement governance entities covering settlement obligations, statutory boards and agreed work programmes
- Contribute to the District Leadership team to plan and deliver workplans.
- Coach, develop and inspire a positive work culture within your team.

- Strong project management & budget management skills with demonstrated experience planning, prioritising, allocating and monitoring resources to meet timeframes.
- Proven leadership and emotional intelligence, able to foster individual and team capability & cultural development
- Whakawhanaungatanga - an ability to foster and develop relationships with colleagues, public and tangata whenua.
- Ability to engage and support the aspirations of tangata whenua in relation to conservation and Treaty settlements.
- Knowledge of te reo me ona tikanga Māori, supporting cultural understanding and partnership development.
- Familiarity with Treaty settlement processes and DOC obligations.
- Full NZ drivers license

The salary range for this position is $79,656.00 - $100,639.00 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
