As Occupational Health Nurse you will ensure the effective delivery of occupational health and safety services to all employees for the Auckland Region of Fulton Hogan. You will be responsible for the development and administration of efficient and professional operations of occupational health services to ensure staff have the necessary tools and education to ensure a healthy work life balance. You will help identify the health risks to workers and monitor the workers’ health to ensure controls are working. Our values will drive everything you do.

In addition to the above you will:
You will provide services including pre-employment checks, drug testing, health monitoring, annual health checks and workplace assessments to work diverse workforce. You play a key role in providing appropriate health assessment, monitoring and safety advice with the aim of reducing the impact of occupational injury, illness and disease and actively promoting a healthy and safe workplace.

You will also implement health or medical surveillance when necessary. ensuring workers are medically fit to undertake the role required, reviewing your risk assessment when a worker is returning to work following sickness absence or declares a health condition. A good understanding of health services and external services available for injury management is essential.

To excel in this role, you will be a registered Nurse who has a minimum of 2 years experience in Occupational Health and Safety delivery along with a relevant tertiary qualification and a current practising certificate.

You'll be a confident practitioner with considerable experience in workplace health assessment and the delivery of health monitoring and the promotion of new health initiatives. You will also have a sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation.

This role will be primary base in our Mt Wellington site but at times you will also be required to travel to other sites and projects.

We’re looking for someone with:

- A Registered Nurse with Practising Certificate with at least a minimum of 2 years experience in Occupational Health and Safety delivery along with a relevant tertiary qualification and a current practising certificate
- Have NZ Nursing Council, NZNO indemnity insurance
- Must hold a current NZ Class 1 driver licence and hold a current First Aid Certificate
- Knowledge of accelerated silicosis is beneficial
- Previous experience of working in an occupational health role, preferably in a similar industry
- Working knowledge of ACC
