He angitūtanga | About the Role
As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing the data on authorisations issued by DOC. These authorisations could be to hold protected species or to operate a business on conservation land. You will supply analysis, advice and support to two Project Leads working on monitoring and improvement projects, regarding non-compliance with the conditions of authorisations.
He kōrero mōu | What we are looking for
You will lead analytical input into national planning and priority setting for permissions compliance work. You will have skills in collating and working with data and databases, with a strong ability to identify trends and gaps. You will be a great writer, with an eye for improving processes, reporting requirements and authorisation conditions. You will be great at communicating your insights and will be keen to work with and learn from others, particularly about how authorisations and contracts are monitored at DOC. On occasion, you will be keen to travel and to support permissions audits in the field. Required skills:
- Strong data analysis skills, able to develop insights from data to contribute to system and process development
- Able to confidently explain analyses and make recommendations
- Confidently able to work with legislative frameworks, contracts, permits and other legal documents
- Understands the Department's legislation, policies, and processes in relation to permits, concessions and compliance
- Strong report writing skills, imparts policy and technical information clearly and concisely
- Advanced excel skills
