Our Christchurch office is currently seeking an experienced Senior Transport Engineer to become an integral member of our Southern Transport team.

**Key responsibilities will include**:
Assist with Transportation and Civil Engineering related projects including the following:

- Project Delivery - Design management and implementation of small to large projects involving investigation, design, reporting, preparation of estimates, contract documentation and contract surveillance
- Client Liaison - Maintain and grow credible business relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure required project outcomes are met and client satisfaction is maintained at a high standard
- Technical Leadership - Provide technical input and leadership to projects - Including QA/QC reviews of project deliverables as Design Manager or Project Manager as applicable
- Assist with developing new and repeat business within the South Island region and wider NZ as required through the delivery of high quality projects and assistance with bid preparation
- Knowledge - Keep knowledge and competencies current, guide staff
- Quality Assurance - Preparation of high quality reports, correspondence and other deliverables
- Providing transport engineer inputs to a range of projects including:

- Design management - leading design management for projects, in particular concept design / SSBC projects and Public Transport projects
- Involvement in road safety audits for Waka Kotahi and local Councils
- Staff mentoring and national involvement in service line activities
- Technical input into design reports and feasibility studies including assisting staff with technical tasks
- Leading and / or providing assistance to others through client meetings and presentations etc.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Bachelor of Engineering / NZCE / NZDE / BE (Civil) or similar
- CPEng
- Tertiary qualified with minimum 15 years’ experience in transportation / civil related projects
- Strong knowledge of public and private sector
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to nurture and develop teamwork within the group
- Organised in multitasking of self and others and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to be proactive and take ownership of small to medium projects
- Self-motivated and energetic
- Flexible in your approach to challenges
