Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Database Administrator (DBA) operates and maintains a high-availability, high-performance, and secure database services platform consisting of a mix of on-premises and cloud services. The role entails providing second and third-line support along with problem resolution for database issues. Proactively monitoring and management of systems: including availability, performance and system capacity is part of the BAU work and there are opportunities to work on larger projects as new systems are implemented.

You will be joining a small flexible and passionate DBA team who work across the District. The ICT DBA team supports the Capital Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa districts. We are their valued partner and trusted advisor, and have a customer service ethos that creates, innovates and enables change while maintaining the core digital systems between our districts, community networks, region and government.
Moū - About you
You will have experience in managing and maintaining SQL Server Databases. Familiarity with Integration Services (SSIS) for data integration and Microsoft Azure would be a plus. You will be able to work independently and cooperatively in a team-oriented environment. Working with internal staff, stakeholders and vendors is along with being able to display strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend corrective actions.
