Your Opportunity
This role will be responsible for the forecasting and planning of all container movements for the Upper North Island. This will include ensuring the reduction of demurrage and detention, looking for cost effective ways to utilise equipment and gaining necessary port booking for the future.
Additionally, this role will involve providing excellent customer service, by having direct relationships with key accounts and visiting customer sites to on-board new accounts.
Furthermore, the role will also have working relationships with transporters to use as third party or gain work for utilisation.
Working as part of the TGE New Zealand team, effective communication with team members and developing working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential.
What you’ll bring to this role
To be successful in this role, you could have the following experience:
Pre-Requisites:
- 2 years’ experience in the transport & logistics industry
- Qualification in relevant field
Key Roles:
- Take an active role in identifying & controlling hazards and unsafe behaviours in the workplace.
- Ensure TGE H&S policies & processes are adhered to at all times & demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Volume forecasting and planning all container movements in advance
- Financial accountability to reduce demurrage and detention
- Resolve customers enquiry’s, complaints, and consignment issues
- Schedule fleet maintenance
- Induct all new drivers and Owner Drivers to the TGE Way
- Identify gaps in documents/missed work/bookings and solving
