**Volunteer Trainer**

**Permanent Part - Time (**0.8 FTE/ 30 hours a week).**

You will delivering training in both Wellington and Masterton

**In this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Plan the training timetable in consultation with other training team members, volunteer coordinators and the national Team Leader Volunteer Programme.
- Ensure volunteers are aware of the training timetable and training expectations.
- Prepare training materials and ensure they are up-to-date and relevant.
- Organise speakers, materials, and logistics for training sessions.
- Attend community meetings, speaking engagements and other promotional engagements where possible and in collaboration with the local volunteer Coordinator.
- Assist with vetting and recruitment of individual volunteers.
- A sound understanding of the refugee settlement process.
- A strong understanding of successful training practices and pedagogy principles.
- Understanding of the challenges of, and techniques for, obtaining, retaining, and successfully working with volunteers.
- Experience in a role or roles where all or most of the required knowledge and skills have been successfully demonstrated.
- Ability to successfully facilitate training using remote-working technologies.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set goals, manage projects and administration, and take responsibility for own learning and development.
