**The Role**:
Our Silver Fern Farms Waitotara site is based in a small rural community located on the border of South Taranaki and Whanganui. We are a friendly and caring team of approximately 230 staff with highly motivated leaders.

We are looking for a motivated and reliable farm hand who is keen learner and not afraid to try new things.

The farm hand position works with one other farm hand to carry out general farm maintenance tasks, such as fencing, tractor driving, weed spraying and maintenance of farm buildings. This role will mainly be assisting with irrigation, and we also require the person to carry out general groundsman duties around the plant.

This position is part of the wider Maintenance and Engineering Team, and will participate in overall planning; toolbox meetings and farming operations.

**We are looking for someone with skills and experience in the following areas**:

- Previous Tractor experience
- Gardening/lawnmowing
- General repairs and grounds maintenance
- General farm work and/or agricultural training
- Handling of sheep and stock
- Fencing (electric and conventional)
- Water system management - troughs/tanks etc
- Computer literate
