Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
You'll provide expert advice and analysis for the Equity and Population Health team, focusing specifically on refugee and migrant health services. This role involves offering support and leadership for various projects and initiatives in the field of public health.
You'll deliver high-quality advice and assistance while overseeing and directing key work programs. Additionally, you will establish strong working relationships with refugee and migrant health provider organisations, partners, and agencies. By identifying service delivery needs and pinpointing gaps in current and future provisions, the Senior Advisor will contribute to improving healthcare for refugees and migrants.
A significant aspect of the role is leading the efficient implementation of crucial projects in a collaborative manner across the team, directorate, and ministry. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing performance monitoring, evaluation, and reporting frameworks for these projects. Through your leadership and expertise, you will guide and mentor other team members, enhancing the overall capability of the team.
You will take the lead in developing and refining processes, tools, and frameworks within the broader team. You'll will foster positive and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders such as the team, group directorate, and ministry, as well as external entities in the health sector, government, and other relevant stakeholders.

- Experience managing relationships at different levels.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles.
- Attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
- Previous successful experience in critical thinking, sound judgement, discretion and proven ability to work under pressure in an environment of ambiguity and complexity.
