**The role**

You will also be expected to empower and feed into a high performing culture. Looking to build user capability within FSNI, and with it our general user experience. Our key objective is to deliver best in class operational outcomes, whilst providing a seamless user computing function that will help our customers get maximum benefit for their IT solutions.

What you’re responsible for:

- Creating technical documentation, including user manuals, monthly reports, knowledge base articles and other technical materials across all FSNI IT.
- Maintaining knowledge and contributing to the ongoing growth in our CMDB.
- Researching and analysing technical information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Producing high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Managing and maintaining content in our FSNI User BOT to ensure quality User online help.
- Developing and maintaining an understanding of the product or service being documented, including its technical features, specifications and intended use.
- Working with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the IT Service and the documentation requirements.
- Organization of all technical documentation into an easy to locate structure.
- Testing and validating documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Continuously improve documentation quality and usability through user feedback and other methods.
- Ensuring that documentation is consistent with our company's brand and voice.
- Providing input and maintain the Confluence information architecture.
- Documenting use cases and customer journey flows when working with the wider ITSM team.
- Creating project documentation as required for IT Operations and Security as FSNI IT projects are transitioned to BAU.

**About you**

What skills and experience you need:

- Previous experience working as a Technical Writer.
- Proficiency with technical writing tools and software such as Confluence.
- Knowledge of CMDB and ITSM frameworks.
- Familiarity with IT Services development processes and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Curiosity, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Able to understand, deliver and improve technical documentation which are critical to Foodstuffs Stores.
- Ability to extract information from SMEs and varied source material and to transform complex information into material that is clear and concise.
- Ability to liaise and build relationships with a range of internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work to deadlines, manage competing priorities and be flexible with quick priority changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear and concise language.
- Experience with project management and documentation processes is a plus.
