**Location: Hamilton**

**Part time, 22.5 hours per week (3 days per week)**

**About the role**:
**The primary function of the Kaitiaki - Youth Connector - role is to**:
Teach and successfully guide tauira in the rangatahi micro credential programme towards pathways to further education and employment:

- Develop, implement, and support tauira with individual holistic plans to support learning and career goals
- Address pastoral care needs of tauira
- Support the Kaiako with delivery of the programme
- Provide transport assistance to tauira where required
- Provide relief teaching and support as and when required
- Provide career support and guidance

**About you - You’ll have**:

- Diploma Level 5 in Youth Work
- Diploma in Adult Education (desirable)
- Proven experience working in a youth-work related role
- Full NZ Drivers Licence (P endorsement)

A qualification in Teaching will give you a distinct advantage when combined with all the other attributes, skills and qualifications required. A sound understanding of te reo Māori phrases, mihi and greetings and of Māori values, culture and tikanga is expected.

This position is classed as a Core Worker under the Children’s Act 2014 therefore, you’ll need to pass a safety check under the Children’s Act 2014.
