**About the Role**:
Our client is a third generation family business, who have been in operation for over 40 years and are utterly passionate about the product they make. They produce over 1 million products per month, with their mission to ensure every item that leaves their factory is the “best of the best”.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will have the overall responsibility of leading the day-to-day operations of the Christchurch bakery site. You will be responsible for retaining the right team and ensuring KPI’s are achieved in all areas of Safety, Quality, Food Safety & Compliance, Production, Service and Costs. Of utmost importance will be your ability to provide clear direction, set and achieve goals and foster a culture where each team member feels valued and enjoys coming to work. Previous experience within the FMCG sector would be highly desirable.

**Duties**:

- Ensure quality & service standards are maintained to Company and customer requirements
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Maintain control over costs and budgets, including productivity, waste & labour
- Be responsible for ongoing leadership and management of the team, including recruitment and induction, training, OH&S etc
- Manage resource allocation to ensure optimal customer service levels and utilisation
- Ensure adherence to Food Safety, Compliance and H&S standard
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, tidiness and preventative maintenance

**Skills and Experience**:

- Strong track record of leading a team to achieve desired results
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within food manufacturing & production would be highly desirable
- Have a Mechanical aptitude
- Strong, clear communicator who builds trust, loyalty and commitment to achieve a common goal
- Be self-motivated and lead with a positive, can-do attitude
- Well organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to meet company targets
- Strategic forward thinker with superior interpersonal and relationship building skills
- High regard for all levels of sustainability, health, safety and compliance
