**The Truck Driver is responsible for working safely and efficiently, including but not limited to**:

- Responsible for driving with a Class 4 or Class 5 license.
- Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.
- Load and unload scrap metal.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries.
- Refuel and keep the clean truck and trailer.
- Report road accidents to the dispatcher.
- Follow all New Zealand traffic laws.
- Inspect the truck and report any issues in a timely manner.
- Follow accident and incident procedures.
- Eroad logbook to be completed daily.
- Report mechanical problems to the dispatcher.
- Keep all professional driver licenses up to date.
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers and co-workers.

**Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Responsibilities**:

- Know the company’s vision with respect to HSEQ standards, behaviours and performance.
- Participate in the company’s safety-first culture that supports continuous HSEQ improvement and participate in company-wide programs.
- Ensure duties of care obligations are met and that your conduct in the workplace occurs in a safe manner at all times.
- Participate in processes regarding risk management compliance and internal controls to ensure operations and legal HSEQ risks are effectively managed and minimised.
- Participate in training to obtain the appropriate skills and experience to safely and competently perform role.
- Adhere to Phoenix policies and procedures at all times.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Advance the company’s vision, mission, and values in all dealings and decisions to translate the
formation of the company’s culture.
- Participate in Communications/Marketing initiatives to effectively resource the business and meet
strategic objectives.
- Develop strategies, plans, and allocate resources to ensure corporate governance.
- Implement strategies and manage standards so that effective customer service is achieved to both
internal and external customers.
- Comply with all statutory obligations and review safety procedures continuously.
- Undertake any other duties, accountabilities and responsibilities as directed.

**Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications**:

- Competence with driving a truck and trailer.
- Familiar with Eroad, or similar traveling tracking software.
- Detail-oriented, strong organization skills and a high degree of accuracy, and working independently.
- Work well with customers and others throughout the yards.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 20kg.
- Knowledge of yard safety rules and methods
- Time management skills
- Reliable and hardworking
- One (plus) years of relevant experience driving heavy vehicles on the open road.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented, strong organisation skills and a high degree of accuracy with the ability to work independently.
- Hold relevant driving licenses ( Class 4 OR Class 5 or Equivalent).
- In-depth knowledge of road rules
- Relevant work experience is preferred, but not compulsory.

**Hours of Work**:
A minimum of 40 hours per week is guaranteed.

**Drug & Alcohol Testing**:
New hire and random drug/alcohol testing is proudly completed to help keep our workspaces safe.
