Sample Machinist

Our client is one of the largest manufacturers, importers and distributors of work wear and uniform apparel in New Zealand. We are looking for an experienced Sample Machinist to join their dedicated team. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5-years’ experience, with a sound grounding in tailored suiting for men and women. You will possess a great understanding and passion for clothing and têxtiles and meet a high standard within agreed timeframes.

**The role involves**:

- Sewing using a range of different industrial sewing machines including an industrial bar tack, dome, blind hem, button / buttonhole machines.
- Sewing to a very high standard on a range of garments and fabrics specializing in tailored suiting: men’s and women’s.
- Ensuring all samples meet Deane quality standards and tolerances.

**You’ll have**:

- A sound grounding in, and a passion for sewing. We’d expect a minimum of 10 years’ sewing experience in a commercial environment - suiting or corporate wear.
- A drive for accuracy, and a rigorous attention to detail is such that garments meet rigorous quality and industry standards.
- Excellent time management skills.
- A flexible, patient and easy-going approach.
- Excellent relationship and collaboration skills.
