Water Serviceperson Trainee

Come join Napier City Council's City Services Team as a Water Serviceperson Trainee In this role, you'll play a vital part in maintaining and enhancing our Water Supply and Council assets. Your responsibilities will span from conducting maintenance and construction work to ensuring the efficient operation of water reticulation networks.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Conduct repairs and maintenance on the Council's water supply systems and associated infrastructure with precision and efficiency.
- Support the smooth operation of water reticulation networks, contributing to an effective and reliable water supply for Napier City.
- Quickly identify and report any significant faults to the Team Leader Water, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Respond promptly to customer service requests, providing timely completion and feedback to the Team Leader Water.
- Be available for call-out duties on a rostered basis and effectively handle emergency situations as they arise.
- Interact with the public in a courteous manner, reflecting the friendly and customer-oriented image of Napier City Council.
- Willingness to work towards obtaining the National Certificate in Utilities Maintenance or equivalent.
- A valid full car driver's license (consideration may be given for a restricted license).
- Previous experience in construction or maintenance of underground utilities (e.g., UFB) or civil works is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently under mínimal supervision.
- Excellent organisational abilities to manage tasks efficiently.
