Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Our wonderful Autism Spectrum Disorder ( ASD) Coordinator is going on leave for a year and we require another unique individual to carry on their great work while they are away. This is a fixed term position for one year. The primary purpose of the role is post diagnosis coordination of services and support for whānau of children aged 2 to 19 years diagnosed with ASD. So if this is a role that has interested you here - s an opportunity to come and be an ASD coordinator for a year.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
We are a supportive and collegial service who like to have fun. The service is made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language therapist. therapy assistant and psychologists. Our staff work in an interdisciplinary way to provide integrated care for children with disability. We are innovative and committed to providing the best service we can and to developing new models of care to enable children and their families to maximise function for daily living.
Moū - About you
The primary purpose of the role is post diagnosis coordination of services and support for whānau of children aged 2 to 19 years diagnosed with ASD. This includes linkage or integration and coordination into multiple services. So if this is a role that has interested you here - s an opportunity to come and be an ASD coordinator for a year.
The ASD coordinator visits whānau to support and review needs, and to write a plan and support implementation of recommendations and transition to other services. The ASD coordinator works closely with other members of the Child Development Service and has strong relationships in the community with other services. The role is primarily community based. Who are we looking for you must have a minimum of 2 years clinical practice /work experience or equivalent in a relevant allied health discipline OR strong and successful experience, knowledge and demonstrated expertise relevant to the ASD coordinator role.the following is also essential ;excellent working knowledge of disability and ASD supports in the Hutt Valley, knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder, you must be independent self-motivating and capable of working in the community
