We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Choice Intake Counsellor for our client's team.

In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and processing referrals for short-term therapeutic interventions for young people.

**About the position**:
As a Choice Intake Counsellor, you will be the first point of contact for young people and their families seeking support. You will gather information about their situation, assess their needs, and make appropriate referrals to services that can provide the necessary support. You will work closely with therapists, youth workers, volunteers, and other staff to ensure that young people receive the care and assistance they need to achieve positive health outcomes.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a recognised tertiary qualification in a therapeutic field such as counseling, psychotherapy, or psychology and
**a current New Zealand registration and practicing certificate.** You must have experience in person-centered, pluralistic, and strengths-based approaches in working with young people. You must possess strong leadership and relationship development skills, organisational ability, communication skills, a high level of professionalism, good administrative practice, and attention to detail.

You must have a passion and heart for working with young people and their families and a drive to achieve positive outcomes. You should have a personal philosophy that includes a strengths-based approach to working with people and a willingness to embrace diversity. Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and a commitment to providing culturally competent service are also essential.
