Service Technician

HPTech is a well-established New Zealand company with over 20 years’ experience as suppliers of top-quality edge-banding solutions to a growing number of customers in the woodworking industry throughout New Zealand. They are agents for respected European manufacturers including OTT and Hebrock. HPTech also supplies a range of in house designed and manufactured equipment to complement the imported range. HPTech operates from their head office and factory in Nelson and from their service branch in Christchurch.

HPTech is well known for their excellent customer service based on solid technical expertise. The focus on service allows HPTech to maximize the performance and the longevity of the machines they supply. This links directly to their core values which include a commitment to care for the environment and the minimizing of waste.

The position of Service Technician is a role that is a direct result of continued business growth and customer demand for new and reconditioned edge-banding machines. Because edgebanders require regular servicing, the Service Technicians play a critical role in the company. The Service Technician is the first point of contact for the customers.

**Skills and experience**:

- Proven training and/or experience in engineering, technology and/or manufacturing-based environments is a prerequisite
- The ability to problem solve and think analytically
- A range of industry backgrounds are possible but ideally from companies which supply and service technically complex machines
- A current limited electrical ticket is preferred
- An eye for detail and precision
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A commercial mindset and business understanding
- High levels of energy and enthusiasm and an ambitious and driven individual who steadfastly pushes themselves and others for improvement and results
- Computer literate - especially with Outlook, Word and Excel
- A basic understanding of the German language would be helpful but is not essential
