Aroturuki Tamariki, the Independent Children's Monitor, monitors the oranga tamariki system, providing insights that will drive continuous improvement and improve outcomes for tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people), particularly tamariki Māori.
We're seeking an experienced generalist HR professional to join our engaged, positive and committed team. You will be our primary HR support, and so we are looking for someone who is able to provide both strategic and operational end-to-end HR support. You will report to the General Manager Corporate, Strategy and Insights and work closely with the leadership team to provide pragmatic and values led solutions to a range of HR tasks, issues and projects.
Your proven skills at building strong relationships coupled with the ability to identify pragmatic and relevant solutions to a variety of HR issues will set you up for success.

**Ideally, you can demonstrate the following**:

- Knowledge of great practices in the HR space
- Experience developing and implementing effective HR policies, initiatives and programmes
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to develop a meaningful PD and other HR documents
- Project/change management skills and experience, ideally within the public sector
- Creative and practical problem-solving skills
- The ability to work calmly through challenges and support managers to find the right solution
- A people over process attitude.
