**The Ministerial Advisory Service (MAS)** lead the stewardship of an open and transparent Treasury through the release of official information. MAS also enables the Treasury to support its Ministers in a coordinated and consistent way. Our goal is cultivating, maintaining and managing relationships internally, building credibility as an advisory centre of excellence within the organisation.

**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and driven **Principal Ministerial Advisor** to work within our high performing **Ministerial Advisory Service Team**.

In this role, you will provide thought leadership and expertise to staff to enable high-quality, timely responses to Ministerial correspondence, Written and Oral Parliamentary Questions (PQs), and Official Information Act requests on behalf of Treasury and/or Ministers, particularly the Minister of Finance and the Minister for State Owned Enterprises. As well, the Principal Ministerial Advisor plays a coaching and mentoring role within the wider Ministerial Advisory Service Team and is the first point of reference and/or advice in the absence of the Manager, Ministerial Advisory Service.

**Ō pūmanawa | About You**

We are seeking a high performing individual who possesses the following:

- A strong understanding of and experience in, the public sector, Parliamentary processes and the Official Information Act
- Experience coaching and mentoring staff within Ministerial Servicing
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent qualification in a relevant area
- Strong statistical and analytical ability
- A thorough understanding of Ministerial Advisory Services processes and systems
- Exceptional skills in figuring out the process necessary to get things done
- The ability to organise people, activities and workflows
- Knowledge of the machinery of government and a passionate interest in current affairs.

Appointments for this role will be based on skills and experience. We will be looking to appoint within following range $141,027 and $165,914.
