Tauranga, New Zealand Presbyterian Support Northern Full time

Have a minimum of Level 4 Health & Wellbeing qualification
- Be part of an exciting new dementia programme
- Based in sunny Tauranga

**Support Workers with a passion for dementia | Enliven / Enliven Plus**
We are looking to change the culture of dementia care in New Zealand. To do so we need Support Workers who have a 'heart' for people living with dementia. We are looking for people who are passionate about playing a key role in improving quality of life by re-empowering through truly person-centred care.

You would initially be working as part of Enliven’s Home Based Support Service and commit to our unique Enliven Plus training programme to become a Specialist Support Worker. This would enable you, if you choose, to gradually transition into Enliven Plus as we roll out the service.

Enliven provides home based services of personal care and/or household care for people aged 65 and over in their own homes.

If you transition to Enliven Plus you will be working closely with a Specialist Care Manager alongside our clients, supporting them to achieve their aspirations and empowering them to live their best lives in their own homes. You will be responsible for a range of person-centred supports that maximises cognitive and functional abilities and you will need to ‘think outside of the box’ when it comes to how we meet the person’s goals.

Enliven Plus focuses on the social and emotional aspects of wellbeing. You will become the person’s dementia champion and a trusted confidante aiming to make their journey as optimal as possible whilst helping them avoid crises. You will be championing and supporting people with dementia to live their best lives.

The most important trait we will be looking for is someone who has a ‘heart’ for people living with dementia. For us, this is a passion and compassion to work together to improve the lives of people with dementia.

Both roles are based in Tauranga and you will ideally have a minimum of Level 4 Health & Wellbeing qualification.

**You are good fit for our Enliven if you;**:

- Have some experience of supporting people living with dementia.
- Have a full or restricted clean driver licence and your own transport.
- Have a valid work permit to work in NZ.

**When you join the Enliven team, you get**:

- A full induction.
- A pay rate of $27.00 for Level 4 qualification.
- Guaranteed ongoing hours.
- Great mileage allowance for travel between clients.
- Access to free counselling, support and advice through our Employee Assistance Programme.

**If you transition to Enliven Plus, in addition to the above you will**:

- Ideally have a minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Health & Wellbeing, but we are open to consider people who are on the learning journey and wish to make dementia their area of expertise.
- Receive additional specialist training and interactive learning in dementia.
- Receive support and mentorship from the Specialist Care Manager.
- Have a deeper understanding of the importance of supportive networks and/or therapeutic connections for people with dementia, their families and carers.

Enliven has many opportunities for you to grow and learn; and is part of Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN), which has provided community and social support in New Zealand for 130 years.

This is very rewarding work where you can make a difference

**As part of the conditions of this role you will need to verify that you have a COVID-19 vaccination.**

If we feel we could be a match and you are offered an interview we want you to be aware that you will be asked to complete a Police Vetting Consent form and a Driver Check Consent form and to bring them along to your interview with you.
