**Te tūnga | The role**
Principal Architect - Enterpise Design reports to the Chief Enterprise Architect, and supports them in delivering the enterprise design for the organisation, ensuring the organisation has the design information and associated assurance profile needed to inform investment and guide and govern transformational change effectively.
This re-envisioned role encompasses a design approach focused on shaping the organisation for achieving strategic outcomes. This will require promoting the design thinking needed to create customer value that centres around data, information products, and the services needed to deliver these.
In your key strategic leadership role, you will support and advise the Chief Enterprise Architect in their engagement with the Executive Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Team.
The use of international enterprise design perspectives and best practices will be an important aspect of how this work is achieved.

- Governance and management of enterprise design, for example providing transparency on and escalation of design risks, issues, and alignment to strategy.
- Provision of advice to leadership, internal and external stakeholders on enterprise design and implementation options and their trade-off's.
- Leading and stewarding design practice and design management capability across an organisation.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to liaise and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation, and ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
- Information about your knowledge and experience, or desire to learn and build knowledge and experience of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Māori, and engagement with Māori.
- How you've demonstrated or encouraged diversity and inclusion in and/or outside of work.
- Examples where you've shown curiosity and tried new things, taken on other perspectives, challenged the norm, reflected on your own and other's behaviours, attitudes or motivations to learn and lead.
- Understanding of the machinery of government and related processes and procedures.
