We are looking for a technical specialist to join the team responsible for Financial Modelling. This is a permanent position, based in our either Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office
Reporting to the Financial Modelling Manager, you will play a leadership role in our Financial Modelling team. Our Chief Advisers often tackle the most important issues, and work closely with modellers and analysts to ensure our work considers the wider context and delivers on the Commission's priorities.
You will be a part of a dedicated team and help guide them to deliver accurate financial modelling to support the regulation of infrastructure, as well as provide robust advice on the financial position of regulated businesses. This is an opportunity to use your financial modelling skillset to make a real difference across all sectors that we the Infrastructure Branch regulates - electricity, gas, fibre and airports.

You could make a great Chief Adviser in our Financial Modelling team, if you have some of the following skills and attributes:

- natural leadership as well as team player abilities developed in a multi-disciplinary environment
- strategic experience in financial modelling, including a deep understanding of all elements of financial modelling projects from initiation and scoping through to quality assurance and delivery
- the ability to think strategically, and to manage and prioritise a portfolio of work
- the ability to use different information and data sources to draw insights and conclusions
- well-developed relationship management skills
- an understanding of economic or government regulation (preferable, but not essential)
- proven track record of identifying and implementing modelling or systems improvements
