
Lab Technician

We are looking for a technician at Beginner to Intermediate level to join our team in Tauranga. This fulltime permanent role will involve:
- Completion of day-to-day tasks in a modern IANZ accredited civil lab testing facility.
- Processing and testing of soils, aggregate and concrete samples in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
- Operating heavy testing and soil sampling equipment.
- Monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation.
- Data entry and processing of results.
- Liaising with customers and engineers.
- Tests are conducted to New Zealand and overseas standards and require a high attention to detail.
You will be expected to perform laboratory
- and field-testing to a high level of accuracy. The work will be hands-on and physical, and therefore requires a reasonable degree of physical capability and, at times, may involve working in adverse environmental conditions. The nature of the work may require early starts, late finishes and occasional overtime.

**What you'll bring**
- You will ideally have completed level 2 NCEA and have 0-2 years experience.
- You will also possess a full driver's license (Class 1).
- Computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Able to lift items weighing 20+ kg on a regular basis.

- Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change.
- Ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision but also collaborate with team members when required.
- You will have the passion to deliver work to high standards.
- You are naturally looking for solutions "outside of the square" when solutions are not obvious.
- Able to make calculated, rapid decisions under pressure and understand the impact of those decisions throughout the business.
- Ability to look at situations from both a commercial and customer perspective.
- Strong ability to prioritize workload and convey to others when there may urgency required to fulfil customer expectation.
