At New World Vic Park, we are out here trying to provide a sweet experience to make life easier for the customer. And now, we are looking for Checkout Operators to help the store deliver awesome experiences

These positions are part time - covering Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

**The Role**:

- Serve Customers appropriately and handle any enquiries they may have. Handle all monies correctly ensuring the till balances on a daily basis.
- Pack all customers goods with care ensuring breakages and damage to perishable items is minimized. To also ensure all ‘smelly’ items are separated from food items.
- Fill bag, stationery and consumable draws as required.
- Ensure the floor around the checkout area is kept clear of obstructions and credits / non purchased items are processed in a timely fashion away from the checkout (especially perishable items).
- Assist customers to their cars with their purchases if requested while not operating.
- Pack for other operators if required. Assist in Lotto area (if appropriate) to cover for breaks.
- Undertake additional housekeeping as required e.g. Cleaning the counter top / sweeping the floors / dealing with spillages / breakages.
- Achieve the minimum scan rates as required.
- Other ad-hoc duties as and when required.

**What are we looking for?**
- 1-2 years previous checkout/customer service experience preferred but not required - full training will be given
- Customer & Results Focused - Adopts a “service” mentality at all times regardless of their position or experience, genuinely enthusiastic about the difference service makes to the customer and success of the business
- Strong communication (verbal and written), relationship management, negotiation skills
- Successful applicants must have impeccable personal presentation standards, a high degree of self-motivation and be completely reliable and a team player.
