**Te Kaiwhakatere (The Navigator), Te Whanganui-a-Tara**

Play a leadership role with Beca’s Te Ahi Tūtata - Māori Business. You will be part of an established team passionate about embedding Te Ao Māori values, tīkanga (protocols) and outcomes in the way Beca works, as well as across our clients, projects and communities. As Te Kaiwhakatere (The Navigator), you will have the opportunity to pursue your career inside a kaupapa Māori based team and to bring your full self to this role.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to join a large Aotearoa professional services firm, playing a part our haerenga (journey). As an experienced leader, you will have scope to help guide, influence and shape the direction for how our Aotearoa business embeds Te Ao Māori into everything that we do. You will be part of a passionate team across Beca, undertaking the mahi to make everyday better, with this role being based in Wellington working across the Central Region (including Beca offices in Wellington, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Hawkes Bay, Nelson, and their associated rohe). Some travel will be expected with this role along with flexibility around working hours to fit with meeting times with our iwi and related partners.

**Te Kaiwhakatere | The Navigator**

This newly created role will provide you with broad scope, enabling you to influence significant development and change. The role will be complex, challenging yet incredibly rewarding. You also will not be alone, with this role being one of five Te Kaiwhakatere roles within the larger Te Ahi Tūtata business across Aotearoa. Together you will work in the kaupapa Māori infused service delivery team in Beca with support and commitment both throughout Beca, and from Beca’s business leaders and board.

You will be primarily focussed on bridging the gap between Te Ao Māori and Te Ao Pākeha in the delivery of projects to our clients. Your main focus in the role will be helping to guide Beca project teams in embedding Te Ao Māori in many forms and expression into daily project delivery, noting this role will be broad in the type, scale, industries and client projects that you will have scope to work across. You will be working with a whole host of Maōri across the region, including Government, Mana Whenua relationship managers, strategic partnership Managers as well as Marae executives, Mana Whenua members and Tribal Authorities in this region to deliver projects within a Treaty partnership context.

This is a senior level role requiring credibility, influence, relationship building and experience across project delivery, ideally in the professional services or related sectors.

**Mōu ake I About you**

You will be a strategic leader, with broad experience and skills in understanding the relationships and partnership framework within Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will enjoy being at the face of projects and with clients, with the ability to build credible and mutually beneficial relationships. Your project experience will be underpinned by a well-developed sense of being Māori and bringing Te Ao Māori to projects.

As a newly created role, we invite applicants with a broad range of experiences regardless of what technical background you bring, with scope in the role to enable you to bring your experience and understanding of project delivery in professional services whilst extending this into a Te Ao Māori view. You will have the remit to shape this role, bringing your influence and constructive challenges to new ways of working and walking in two worlds in project delivery and taking existing well-established practices forward into an integrated Te Ao Māori based approach. We have scope for this role to be broadened to include Project Management, Planning and other Engineering related tasks depending on your professional background, interest and career plans.

**Our Māori Business Strategy**

Beca has been working in partnership with Iwi Māori and our Crown and private sector clients over many years. To further support our continued growth, we have formed Te Ahi Tūtata to draw a sharper focus to our mahi. Te Ahi Tūtata is our Māori business that delivers our strategy and purpose. You will be part of delivering this strategy to raise competency, deliver projects to clients and embedding a Māori world view in Beca. You will be part of the team that is at the forefront of shaping Kaupapa Māori infused services to our clients as we move forward into the next 100 years at Beca.

Te Ahi Tūtata includes these three Pou Whakaaro:
