About the role

The Media & Communications team at New Zealand Police play a meaningful role in telling stories and communicating to the public and staff about what our Police are doing.

We have an exciting opportunity for two videographers to support our award-winning Marketing and Brand team by producing highly engaging content for our digital channels, especially social media.

From Day in the Life vlogs to Police Dog Champs, fraudulent online activity to major event updates, and crime prevention advice to road safety education - no two days of video content requests will be the same.

We are looking for two confident Videographers who can take a project from pre-production through to post-production. Sometimes it will need a quick turnaround, sometimes you’ll have a longer timeframe.

The roles will be based in Wellington and Christchurch, and will join our Auckland Videographer as part of our video unit where you will work closely with the social media team, Police districts, and staff at Police National Headquarters to help shape how we use video content to showcase everyday policing in New Zealand.

You will have a strong passion for storytelling with attention to detail for planning, a focus on content creation, and knowledge of video best practice in terms of the ever-changing available formats in the digital space.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Producing highly engaging video content for our digital channels (internal and external).
- Works closely with the Social Media Manager, Digital Content Creator, and the social media team collectively, to assist in the development of social media content that will help strengthen trust and confidence in NZ Police.
- Connect with staff across the organisation, especially districts and workgroups, to develop an understanding of opportunities to turn insights and messaging into video content.

- A proven track record of filming and editing engaging a wide range of video content, especially for social media and/or YouTube.

- Excellent time management skills and high attention to detail.
